Apartments
Our rooms and studios are for single occupancy only, so you cannot rent them with anyone else (friend, partner, etc.).
However, we also offer 1- and 2-bedroom apartments that are perfect for a couple or a group of two.
No, GetYourPlace provides you a housing insurance for only 25$ per month (tax included). If you book a room with us, it is mandatory to pay it, and it will be included in the rental contract. Our insurer is Lloyd’s, a worldwide insurance company based in London, UK. It protects every roommate for up to 2,000,000$ for premises liability coverage (except water damage), and 25,000$ for Personal Property Coverage (1000$ deductible). All the housing insurance details are sent to you once you book a room.
If you rent a room in one of our shared apartments, you'll be sharing the apartment with students or young professionals, aged 18 to 27, from Canada or abroad. As soon as a room is booked, the tenant's gender and nationality are listed on the apartment's listing.
No, all of our apartments are smoke-free; but, you can smoke on the balcony, if the apartment features one.
The monthly rent includes furniture, heating, hot water, electricity, and internet (unlimited downloads). Some apartments include bi-monthly cleaning of common areas (living room, kitchen, bathroom(s)) and linens.
The only extra is mandatory tenant insurance ($25 per month, taxes included), which is part of the lease agreement.
When the contract ends, you must leave the apartment in the same condition as when you arrived (garbage emptied, fridge and ovens emptied and cleaned, floors and bedrooms washed, sheets washed, etc.). If the apartment is not left in its initial condition (general cleanliness of the apartment), a cleaning fee may apply.
Unfortunately, due to allergies, we do not allow pets in our apartments.
Since our apartments are furnished, you don't need to bring much with you, apart from: your personal belongings, your bedding, and cleaning/hygiene products.
If you have a technical problem in the apartment (plumbing, electricity, etc.), contact us and we will respond as soon as possible, and send a hospitality agent or a specialist technician (plumber, electrician, etc.) if necessary. For emergencies, please contact us directly via messages on Facebook
All our buildings are equipped with washers and dryers. Some are located in the apartments (free of charge), while others are in the building's common areas (some free, some paid) and therefore shared with other residents.
Unfortunately, our apartments do not have parking spaces. However, they are close to bus lines, metro stations and a self-service bike station (BIXI), making getting around easy.

When booking your room, you will be asked to provide a guarantor. This individual will act as guarantor for the duration of the lease and its renewals. This person can not be a student, have sufficient income, and agree to undergo a verification process.
We offer rental contracts of 2 to 12 months, depending on the duration and the rooms, and they are not reducible. The contract is usually for 12 months, sometimes 6, but some of our rooms may have shorter lease terms. You can find the different date options directly on our listings.
Yes of course! Even though we provide many photos, virtual visit and floorplan for each apartment, we understand that some persons prefer visiting the apartment and its rooms before making a reservation. To do so, just please send us a message and we'll arrange a day and time for the visit(s).
When you book a room on the website, you must make a payment equal to one month's rent via PayPal, the safest way to pay online. PayPal's booking fee is 5%. For subsequent monthly rent payments, you can pay either online through your Canadian bank (free), via Wise (approximately 1% additional fee), or via PayPal (4.11% additional fee). The necessary payment information will be sent to you as soon as you have booked the room.
Yes, of course! If you want to leave the apartment earlier than planned and stop paying rent, you just need to find someone to replace you under the same conditions for the remaining term of your lease (minimum 1 month).
As stated in the contract, there is a $95 fee for the lease transfer.
To book a room, simply select the room you want and the available rental period, and follow the steps. The booking will only be finalized once we have received payment equal to one month's rent. Once the room is booked, we will contact you (if we haven't already been in contact) to confirm your reservation.
You will find all the necessary information for your arrival in your online account. A lock code will be assigned to you before your arrival, allowing you to enter the apartment. You will need to complete an online inventory, which you will receive by email the day before your arrival.
